I am open to M/M and M/Other as well as gen for To Whatever, Venom, This Summer, and I Need More Intel. I am open to F/F and mentions of M/F relationships as well as gen for Thoroughbreds.

I am a huge fan of romance and humor and open to anything from fluffy to dark. I'm not a fan of Big Misunderstanding plots, but I do love some Identity Porn. I like couples who are shown to have a strong sense of communication (even if what they're communicating is 'you're the worst, but I like you anyway'). Mostly, I like to see whatever suits the couple's personalities. That includes in bed too. If you can convince me with your story that it is in character, I'll believe it.

I'm not interested in the characters having kids (unless they have one canonically). However, I do find stories where someone is accidentally turned into their kid self fun.

To Whatever - Shaenon Garrity

I absolutely love the contrast between Ethan's domestic attitude toward Whatever and the fact that Whatever is a Lovecraftian horror with spines that stirs its coffee with bone and can infect people with nightmares and send them to that alternate reality. Because Ethan could be afraid, but some people deserve to spend some time in a tower of orbs and a roommate who actually replaces the groceries is hard to find.

I would love to see a story where Ethan and Whatever's growing comfort with each other blossoms into romance. (That Pinot Noir was totally a move.) Sweet or smutty is a-okay. I do want their romantic relationship, if it happens, to be fully consensual. Ethan should be into whatever Whatever has going on and however he gets off with it. I would prefer either a male or non-human-gendered Whatever.

If you want to keep to gen, I'd love roommate hijinks. Does Ethan misinterpret a rune and buy the laundry detergent they still have a Costco-sized container of when they're out of dishwater detergent? We know that the smell of Whatever is sometimes a drawback. Does Ethan have any drawbacks for Whatever?

You could keep to the epistolary style of the short story, but switching to standard first or third person for ease of storytelling is fine. (With this canon, I think you could even do something nifty with second person, if you wanted.) Feel free to name Whatever or keep him nameless.

Venom (Movie 2018)

The trailers didn't sell me, but I got a free ticket ... and now I've seen this movie twice already. I think this movie is super fun, and Venom and Eddie's relationship is a real highlight, rushed as it is.

Perhaps you could insert a bonding moment somewhere in the movie timeline? Something that would make Venom want to spend more time with Eddie instead of merely treating him as a ride.

But perhaps they aren't merely a friendly host and parasite, but romantic as well? (It was Venom's choice to kiss Eddie.) (Also, I have long had a thing for shipping people with the person possessing their body, so I was doomed to ship it. I blame Yu-Gi-Oh.)

I would adore a fic of Eddie and Venom having a double date with Annie and Dan. (I loved Eddie and Annie's functional exes thing, as well as Dan turning out to be actually, truly decent. So nothing bad happening to them, please.) Maybe Eddie and Venom have some misunderstandings about what dating should consist of?

Also, in the comics, the symbiotes can feed off of chemicals in chocolate, which would be a fun discovery to play with for the first time one of them gives the other a box of chocolates. (Note that I am only familiar with limited comics and cartoon canon, but don't mind various details to be thrown in for flavor. Just warning you that I might not recognize a clever reference when it's right in front of my face.)

Smut works too. There are a lot of possibilities with Venom, after all. Including his amorphous form and picking up a third if they want to get off together in the human way. (Perhaps Eddie needs the help for demonstration purposes?) If things go in a d/s direction, I see Eddie as submissive.

I am a ridiculous person, which means that of course I love this extended music video about a man who finds a cat, loses the cat due to his smoking, finds a man just like the cat, loses the man due to his smoking, and then reunites with him in a potentially not-good car wreck. It's sometimes hot, sometimes sweet, often goofy due to the seriousness with which it treats everything. I love all of these tones.

I want all the crack and/or fluff (with maybe a bit of angst for flavor). They're not hurt or barely hurt by the car, and this time their relationship goes better and the man decides to change for good this time. Or maybe the other man turns back into a cat, switching back and forth until the man fully appreciates him? Maybe the man realizes that the other man is his cat turned human? Or maybe he isn't, and that was all a coincidence, and the cat comes back too. Does the other man learn to speak due to his time as a human, making it easier to communicate?

Or maybe an outsider POV fic. Does the man have friends who figure out he's struck up a very strange relationship and don't know what to think about it?

Definitely feel free to give them actual names!

Thoroughbreds (2017)

• Lily (Thoroughbreds)

Neo-noir is having a moment and I am living for it. Not all of the recent spate of neo-noir movies have worked for me, but I loved Thoroughbreds. Lily was my favorite character. I loved Amanda too, but Lily was the one who really got to me. Particularly her vulnerability after killing Mark and her cold future confrontation with Tim after.

How do things turn out for Lily? Does she become a political or business success, enjoying that she has a dark secret no one will ever know? Does she become a black widow? What about Amanda? At the end, it seems like Lily is ignoring her letters. Does Amanda get released one day, and how does she feel about Lily then? How does Lily feel about her - try to strike up their strange friendship again or try to eliminate the one person who knows the truth? Or maybe they decide to take down a few chosen people together, now that they've grown older and know how to hide their tracks better. Possibly Lily one day has a stepdaughter who is really tired of her stepmother.

Alternately, a moment of intimacy during some part of the movie. Does Lily really love Amanda, or is she using her?

Please, minimal or no mentions of Tim. (At least, not more significant to the plot than he is in the movie.) Sometimes thinking of Anton Yelchin still makes me sad.

I Need More Intel: Is That Hot Guy Gay? (CollegeHumor Originals)

I have recently become addicted to CollegeHumor videos (I go through YouTube phases like a totally normal person) and was excited when I took another look at the tag set and realized one had been nominated. And it was a Grant vid! With spies!

The surveillance van operative looked for a Grindr profile fast, but sure seemed unsure about what the secret agent wanted him to divine from Jordan's social media. Is this the first time Grant has done this? (Or the first time they haven't needed to go past a Grindr profile?) Or is it their first time being paired in the field? They do seem to have history, since the surveillance van operative doesn't worry about the assassination getting ruined by the distraction. Does the secret agent make him look up information during dates? Does he schedule dates with Jordan during other missions? Is Jordan a double agent (great opportunity for identity porn, or the surveillance van operative looking deeper into his background on his own time)? Does the secret agent do this repeatedly? Does the surveillance van operative end up being a Cyrano de Bergerac and end up falling for one of their targets? Does he fall for the secret agent? I am up for any sort of bro bonding over improving the secret agent's love life by approaching it as a mission.

Please throw in silly spy gadgets or other technology. You can give the characters unique names, or just use Grant and Zac since CollegeHumor vids often use their real names for characters.

This is my letter for Trick or Treat 2017. Feel free to mix and match prompts and go ODAO as long as you respect the DNWs in my signup. You can also look at my previous letters for inspiration if you need more prompts, although X/1999 is the only fandom I've requested before. They're over on LJ.

Do Not Want:
Rape (Dubcon is fine, as are any references to canon events that might contain rape.)
Cheating (As in infidelity; poly situations or AUs where the canon couple never happened or breakups are all fine.)
Hurt/comfort (More specifically, it is the sick!fic genre that I don't want. I don't mind characters getting injuries and having them realistically treated; in fact, I prefer that to characters shrugging off bullet wounds.)

I normally list body horror under my DNWs, but I am fine with it appearing in tricks.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017)

I'm interested in stories set before, during, or after canon.

The mage is so mysterious that we don't even know her name. I really enjoyed what we saw of her - the prickly personality, the fantastic powers (often involving cool animals), and that she was all about getting her agenda done. I'd love something that explored why she became convinced putting Arthur on the throne was the best path, since there's obviously a ton of baggage between the mages and the ruling family. How did she become so powerful - is she Nimue? Or another figure we might know from the legends? What does she do once Arthur is king? Does she work to re-integrate the mages and make them welcome in society? Is there romance? I do ship the mage and Arthur, ever since she dumped him on his ass for his teasing flirting.

For Maggie, I want all the spying stories. How did she reach her position in the castle? Had she already been there when Uther died and decided to spy then, or did it come later? Maybe just a scene of her finding some important information and figuring out a way to pass it on to Bedivere. Or a scene with her and Vortigern where she can't decide if he knows or not.

I've been a fan of King Arthur for a long time. I went into this movie with low hopes due to the dreadful trailer, but was shocked by how fun I found it! Apparently I'd been waiting for an interpretation where Arthur was a gangster raised in a brother allied with a mage who brings a giant snake to the fight.

Some more ideas for treats:
The mage meeting a new animal for the first time or learning new powers. The mage having fun with the knights in Camelot. Perhaps she lends her magic to a trick played on their new king?
Maggie cares for Catia and things about taking her away from her captivity. Maggie plays a game of chess with Vortigern because she's the only one available.

Some more ideas for tricks:
A spell goes horribly awry. The mage has an hallucinatory trip of her own or other consequences. Vortigern wins and wants her power for his own.
Maggie gets caught spying by someone she considers a friend and has to decide what to do. Maggie thinks back on people she's lost and why she's dedicated to the cause.

Nanase Haruka

I'd really love something where Haru is a mythological sea creature of some sort trying to pass as a high school boy, possibly to be closer to the human kids he met when he was young.

Or perhaps there is a cursed swimming pool and only a swimmer who truly loves the water can break the curse, so the pool's owner tries to get Haru to break it.

I'd also be interested in mundane stories of what happens in the future. How does the roommate situation with Makoto work out? Does he go to the Olympics with Rin? Does he become a chef once he retires?

Anything based on the Splash Free ending is also great.

I'm open to any ship.

Free! is such a chill show that it always puts a smile on my face. Haru ended up being my favorite because of his weird affinity with the water, but I like all of the characters. I liked that while Haru isn't often expressive, he does feel things deeply and has trouble understanding his own feelings.

Some more ideas for treats:
Haru finds somewhere new to swim with his friends. Haru finds a way to become even closer to his true love, water.

Some more ideas for tricks:
Haru is a selkie who wants his pelt back. Haru is kept from the water by foul means. (Perhaps he and Makoto are kidnapped walking home one day?)

Shirou Kamui (X/1999)

This is such a nostalgic fandom for me. Kamui has always been my fave, both early in the series when he's angry and sarcastic and uses his power without thought and later when he's broken and trying to pull himself together to fight for a world that no longer contains the people that were important to him (his mom, Kotori, sane Fuuma). I ship both Kamui/Fuuma and Kamui/Subaru (as two seriously messed up people who aren't necessarily less messed up together).

I am open to crossovers/fusions with vampire!Kamui from TRC.

I'd like anything from happy memories to Kamui's kekkai falling. Perhaps he gets captured by Fuuma, or encounters Fuuma in a rare good mood and they have a nice moment that gives him false hope. Or Subaru tries to help Kamui deal with Kotori's death while proving he's the last person to help someone move on. I'll go for pretty much anything. I also really love his friendships with the dragons, especially Yuzuriha and Sorata.

I am still sad that we'll probably never have an ending to X. It makes me want more and more fic to fill the hole in my life.

Some more ideas for treats:
After the battle is over, Kamui goes on a date. Kamui gets ice cream with someone and nothing goes wrong (although there might be subtext of future danger). Kamui kisses someone and it's nice and no one dies.

Some more ideas for tricks:
Kamui gets pinned down and licked. Kamui is haunted by the dead. Seishirou decides to play with Kamui since he's been spending time with Subaru. Pretty much anything based on what happens to Kamui in canon.

Ganymede (Everworld)
Senna Wales

Fandom-specific DNW: No April/Senna

This was one of those fandoms I saw in the tagset and went, "Yes, I want that." And then had to try to figure out what I actually wanted.

Ganymede was such a fascinating character, especially given how little of the series he appeared in. But he made a big impact on the core four (and introduced me to parts of mythology I'd never encountered before). What was life like for him before the four appeared? Or absolutely anything expanding on him interacting with them, particularly one-on-one, and particularly Ganymede and Christopher.

I was always fascinated by Senna, and her combination of being a damsel in distress and the villain. I was so excited when we finally got a book through her point of view! I'd love a story about her getting revenge on someone who thought she was helpless. Or perhaps one about her still discovering her powers and messing up an attempt at magic. I'd also be interested in a piece about her manipulating and preying on David.

I went to immediately start canon review so I could write better prompts and discovered I own two copies of Gateway to the Gods and zero copies of Fear the Fantastic. Don't worry; I'll have bought a copy and read it by reveals. But I am flabbergasted by this error in my collection.

Some more ideas for treats:
Ganymede and Dionysus have fun in better times. Ganymede escapes and is not eaten by Ka Anor. Christopher has more time with Ganymede after he's saved their lives.
Senna and April actually have a nice moment as sisters. Senna has fun discovering her magic and creates something that makes her happy.

Some more ideas for tricks:
Ganymede shortly after being stolen by Zeus. Being involved in god politics when you're just a mortal-made-god.
Senna plays a nasty trick on someone to entertain herself. Fairytale AU with Senna as the evil witch.
